Judge Cassell to testify at Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on Blakely

We have learned that District Judge Paul Cassell, D.Utah, who wrote the opinin in US v. Croxford, will be one of the witnesses testifying tomorrow before the Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on Blakely and the future of the federal sentencing guidelines. This is not surprising, given that he has strong conservative ties, and that Sen. Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, presides over the Judicary Committee. See my earlier post as to where to link to these hearings.
