I invite you to read Professor Berman post on The Human Face of Retroactivity at Sentencing Law and Policy. In particular, read the letter from an inmate which is attached at the end of the post. Quite a moving reminder that there are thousands of lives adversely affected by the Courts' reluctance to apply Booker retroactively.
One can't help but wonder at the sense of having been forgotten that these persons imprisoned under sentences that under Booker are illegal must feel. Read that letter.
